Wow, thanks for posting this, as I had no idea Patti had designed a book on A SEASON IN HELL!
From Gallimard:
Patti Smith accompanies the full text of A Season in Hell by Arthur Rimbaud, in the "Grande Blanche illustrée" collection, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the first publication of this emblematic text. The edition is augmented with poems and letters by the poet, who was, for the American artist, a source of inspiration for her personal construction and for her songs.
"I was sixteen years old when I discovered Arthur Rimbaud. I was attracted to his face and his poems, which intrigued and fascinated me.
Mesmerized by their exhilarating charm, I emerged trembling, keeping few memories of what I had read. Despite this, his words had somehow etched themselves in my brain, coiled like a rope on the deck of an abandoned ship in the middle of a deadly mist. A Season in Hell was the drug of my younger years, the elixir containing the tools and method to overthrow false idols. Such is the exhilarating power of poetry.

By the way thanks for your reading of ENCLOSURE ACT, your poem inspired by John Clare. I went back and read I'M ONE, written in 1845 when John Clare was in the Northampton Lunatic Asylum.
What an amazing edition! New to your page but looking forward to reading your thoughts and words. Is the book in both English and French? I hope to find a copy !
Thank you for shining your special light on Rimbaud and your passion for him. It must’ve been amazing thumbing through the pages of such an exquisite book. And those sketches/photographs by Patti are so cool. Love the gun against a red background—-wow! I miss the days when I would see you and Patti and band rock at the Fillmore in San Francisco. I could imagine tho gun and other pictures and sketches being projected(during certain songs like Rock N’ Roll Nigger) on the back of the stage for the audience to gaze at while you guys performed. Anyway, thanks for sharing this video. Oh, and I will be looking for Beware Of Pity, the book by Stefan Zweig—that sounds very interesting. Keep looking up to the artful sky*~~*

The Star from the Thoth Tarot deck suits the book particularly well!
